Hi chaps, great idea for the podcast and I’m really glad you’re doing it. Enjoyed some of the discussion.
My only criticism and it’s a big one, is that the length is far too long. I could listen to people talking about boardgames for about 20-30 minutes at most without some sort of breakup in the programming, especially as it’s such a visual subject.
I appreciate that post-production is a hefty and time-consuming project, but personally think that it’s just too long a period of time for me to dedicate to each episode. My own podcasts (music based) were 2 hours long and I saw a great leap in subscribers when I decided to halve them in length.
Thanks for the comment, Toby! And yes: we agree entirely about the length and are going to be cutting it down for future episodes.
I must disagree. A long podcast, say like thed6generation, is a great value! The gamers I know use bookmarks and with my sansa clip I can leave a podcast and come back later at the exact same point. I do however, like to have different segments and humor. So I say, as long as you have quality, do not worry about the length.
